So, after this last update dealing with lvm2 and such, I have no sound in anything unless my user is part of the 'audio' group.
This is the output of various files:
cat proc/asound/cards and aplay -L -- http://pastie.org/6154505
getfacl /dev/snd/pcm* -- http://pastie.org/6155091
loginctl show-session $XDG_SESSION_ID -- http://pastie.org/6155437
Error VLC produces after trying to play a MIDI file (I have fluidsynth installed):
Audio output failed: The audio device "default" could not be used: Permission denied.
If I'm part of the 'audio' group, it works fine.
I did not mess with any ALSA files before the update, I just did sudo pacman -Syu, followed the instructions it spat at me (double checking the lvm files, etc), and rebooted.
I also triple checked that the sound was not muted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I have the same issue, but tuxguitar actually outputs sound (bogus?).
