akmods for Arch Linux

I've been fighting a lil' with Gnome 3 and some user on Reddit said that installing the akmods-nvidia package helped him. However, I guess akmods might be Fedora specific things.

rpmfusion.org states:

An akmod is a type of package similar to dkms.

So I found dkms-nvidia, but I don't know how this package could help me with my issues with Gnome 3. Could anybody enlighten me?

Also, I use repo-ck and one of its kernels, can I still benefit from dkms-nvidia (as it conflicts with the nvidia package)?

Oh, by "fighting" I meant trying to solve that issue I have with Gnome 3 I described in that reddit thread I linked to.

Re: akmods for Arch Linux

So you need a magic spell? wink However, I think you should inspect your logs first and try to find out the real culprit of your problem instead...
