[solved] GPT + Raid1 + NTFS

So basically thats the issue, its a 2TB raid1 formatted w/ ntfs using gpt. i'll post code to get that out of the way.

reactor dylix # gdisk -l /dev/sdc
GPT fdisk (gdisk) version 0.8.6

Partition table scan:
  MBR: protective
  BSD: not present
  APM: not present
  GPT: present

Found valid GPT with protective MBR; using GPT.
Disk /dev/sdc: 3907029168 sectors, 1.8 TiB
Logical sector size: 512 bytes
Disk identifier (GUID): 6D5A4211-2152-47C7-BBBE-DAE341B6812F
Partition table holds up to 128 entries
First usable sector is 34, last usable sector is 3907022814
Partitions will be aligned on 8-sector boundaries
Total free space is 4029 sectors (2.0 MiB)

Number Start (sector) End (sector) Size Code Name
   1 34 262177 128.0 MiB 0C01 Microsoft reserved part
   2 264192 3907020799 1.8 TiB 0700 Basic data partition

I've googled "ntfs invalid sig" for HOURS on end with no success. Tried all the obvious solutions, but if anyone has some suggestions? big_smile I'm pretty positive it has to do with only ntfs, as my mirror looks just fine..

I think /dev/md/Mirror is a (virtual) disk with two partitions (Mirror1 and Mirror2).
What gives this commands ?

blkid /dev/md/Mirror
blkid /dev/md/Mirror1
blkid /dev/md/Mirror2

So this is like trying to mount /dev/sda instead of /dev/sda1 on a classic configuration. Try to mount Mirror1 or Mirror2.

take time to daydream, inspiration comes ...

Re: [solved] GPT + Raid1 + NTFS

turns out i should have been using dmraid not mdadm, disabled mdadm from udev, added the modules for dmraid to mkinitcpio and all is well now
