no audio cd in kde?

oh no, here we are again. Since the KDE 4 release I've never ever managed to listen to an audio cd on amarok. every year they say it's fixed, but it's not the case.
but still kscd, dragonplayer or vlc were working.

this time, for a change, they don't work too. just clementine, based on gstreamer, did the job.
I put myself in optical, disks, cdrom groups (you can _also_ read that now cdrom are mounted as disks..), cdrom symlinks to sr0, no udisk/udisk2 conflicts, phonon-vlc backend..
nothing. audiocd is recognized, I can also open it with kio slave in dolphin, or k3b, but no kde app wants to play it, while I do.

looks like an upstream bug. do you have any idea why?
Do you know where vlc stores its debug registry?

main warning: cannot load module `/usr/lib/vlc/plugins/access/libcdda_plugin.so' (libcddb.so.2: impossibile aprire il file oggetto condiviso: File o directory non esistente)
main error: corrupt module: /usr/lib/vlc/plugins/access/libcdda_plugin.so
main debug: no access module matching "cdda" could be loaded

could be a compiling bug. any idea?

Re: no audio cd in kde?

ok, cds are played in vlc with libcdio installed.

but still amarok has issues: if a cd is played from devices notifier applet, amorok does nothing. cd is not even detected. if media is played from amarok menu, it crashes.
