From hpoj to hplip -- problems

Hi there,

With today's pacman -Syu, hpoj was removed and hplip installed. So far, so good. But according to the project page, my PSC 1110 isn't supported (only PSC 1100). And lo and behold, I can't get it to print out even a test page in CUPS. Scanning works, but no printing. So ...

1) In case the 1110 should work with the 1100 backend, how do I have to set it up in CUPS? The directions on the hplip homepage don't work, I can't even print out the test page in CUPS.

2) In case the 1110 can't be run with the hplip package, where can I find the old hpoj packages? They seem to have been removed from the repositories, and building them with ABS doesn't work (can't download the source).

Feedback would be MUCH appreciated. Without a working printer, I can just as well scrap my linux installation ...

Re: From hpoj to hplip -- problems

Okay, solved the problem: The .ppd file was missing. Downloaded and installed it by hand, and it works now. smile hplip supports the PSC 1110 with the additional .ppd file.
