udev doesn't autoload modules under kernel 3.7.9

I upgraded to kernel 3.7.9 and when I rebooted, it didn't load my ethernet  card kernel module, my sound card kernel module or even the nvidia kernel module. seems udev doesn't like this kernel.

downgrading to 3.7.8 in core fixes it...

Re: udev doesn't autoload modules under kernel 3.7.9

Are you absolutely sure that the right kernel was booting?  I have seen many times when the old kernel is still being booted, but the modules are now the updated ones, so the result is exactly what you described here.

Edit: BTW, I no longer use the testing repo, but I am using graysky's repo-ck which just upgraded to 3.7.9-1 and it is working just fine... so unless there are some major differences between the two, it is probably not the kernel itself.

yes, it is the new kernel booting. pacman removes 3.7.8 and installs the 3.7.9 files instead.

Did you get anywhere with this?  3.7.9 moved to the stable repos, so I am now using it without issue.

yes, I had to recompile the linux-3.7.9 package to get it to work...

Interesting... that really shouldn't have been necessary.  At least you got it working though.  Thanks for the update, I was just curious.
