Hi,
After rebooting, I was unable to logon to arch because my keyboard stopped working. The same keyboard on the same computer works on two other OSs.
The only upgrade I remember doing were wget 1.10.2-1 and filesystem 0.7.1-2. I'm assuming that filesystem hosed some files.
The keyboard is USB.
I appreciate any hints as a work report is in my arch install (and I don't have another keyboard). I also don't want to reinstall.
Thanks

does it work in the bios ?
also try to start up te xdcmp config thing from gdm and cancel it. and try if your keyboard works then.

Yes, it works in the bios as well as on two other OSs on the same computer.
I'll try your xdcmp suggestion.
Thanks

Yeah, I have this problem too. It's happened to me twice so far (reinstalled to see if it was a config problem). After I reinstalled and got my system to where I want it, i rebooted and the keyboard once again did not work. I have no idea what could cause it. The last thing I installed was cups, everything else is pretty standard (gnome, Xorg, etc). This is a PS/2 Keyboard.

I once had a problem like this one. It happened to be a bug in gdm, so I booted with arch install cd, chrooted and then removed gdm from the daemons array in rc.conf.
And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you though?

I have exactly the same problem....,
Happens both on my workstation and a laptop...
Every time I have to do the xdcmp trick...
It's pretty anoying... Does anyone know if it is reported as a bug?

Well apparently it is in the bug DB... And they also suggested that GDM is started as the last daemon, which works fine for me, then the keyboard works.

For the record, you can also start gdm with inittab. See wiki for more details.
