Greetings,
Yesterday my printer worked without complaint. Today it won't print at all, leaving only the Filter Failed error. I want to stress that I changed *absolutely nothing* before the error occurred.
So I updated my system this afternoon. Still no joy. I re-installed cups, cups-filters, hplip, still got no joy, the error persists. Have looked at all "solutions" on-line, nothing works. AFAICT permissions settings are correct.
Switched the printer over to my Ubuntu 12.04 box. Printer works fine there. Thank goodness, Ubuntu does that right at least.
Can anyone please point me to a real solution for my Arch box ? This is extremely frustrating.
Best,
dp

Resolved by uninstalling/reinstalling printer via CUPS Web interface.
