Hello, i've got an Alienware M17x R2, i installed Arch Linux yesterday (so everything is up to date).
My problem is that i can't get how to control fans. They are full-on all the time and my PC is really noisy.
I tryed with lm_sensors but the output of "sensors" is just:
coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Core 0: +47.0°C (high = +95.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Core 2: +51.0°C (high = +95.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
And i can't go with this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fan_Speed_Control .
I found that my chipset is PM55, but i can't find anything helpful about that, maybe it's fully unsupported?
Another thing: i unlocked my BIOS, so it has some fan control options; i'm not sure they work because I suppose Windows "takes control" when it's booted, but so does Arch? I mean, there's a way to let Arch just ignore fans and let the BIOS manage them? Or it's already doing so (and that's not a solution)?

Could be a long shot - but have a look at how I fixed a similar problem for my Dell: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=148156

Doesn't work, when i try to load the i8k module it says it doesn't find the hardware. (Of course, there's no i8k hardware)
