I recently downloaded team fortress 2 from steam and when i was about to open it it crashed with this error:
"could not find required OpenGL entry point "glColorMaskIndexedEXT"! Either your video card is unsupported or your OpenGL driver needs to be updated"
I searched everywhere and the only thing I found was about nvidia cards or even older ati cards. I'm using radeon X800GTO.
Please help I really want to play this game and not on Windows!
Edit:
found out how to launch it from the command line, here's the output:
SDL video target is 'x11'

What video driver are you using?
If you are using the open source go to the proprietary and try it, if proprietary try opensource.

Your card is waaaaay too old to support what's necessary to run these games. Waaaaaaaaaay.

No driver will help here, the hardware isn't capable. It supports opengl 2 only. TF2 requires opengl 3

That is not helping. His only choice is the open-source driver, because the card is too old. Also as Gusar said: His card isn't capable to run TF2 in Linux.

Is it possible that i could run any other source game from steam?

Not with your hardware. You need at least a HD 2xxx card. Because of OpenGL 3.x.
