thats nice, got kind of a qnx/photon vibe, but if the bar on the bottom is a taskbar, what are the thumbnails on the side?

Re: November 2005 Arch Screenshots

the taskbar on the bottom shows only non-iconified windows and the thumbnails in the sidebar are the iconified windows.

OSX, eat your heart out.

(KDE with Umicons and slightly modified Clean-stik theme. Fonts are snap for applications and smoothansi for terminals.)

By clean, I mean no windows open so that the wallpaper, conky, bar button and other stuff on the desktop can be seen. wink  And yes there is more activity (eye candy) compared to my last (September) screenshot.

Very nice. smile  How do you put the minimized windows in the left-side taskbar? Do you do that with IconBox? Currently when I minimized windows, the thumbnails gets placed from right to left starting at bottom left corner.  After a while, they start overlapping my button bar (see my screenshot on previous page) and I would like to prevent that.

Snowman, you can define the geometry of Iconbox as well as how it gets populated (i.e. right to left, bottom to top, or whatever). For example, I have:

Style * IconBox 3 3 10 $[vp.height], IconFill t l

I am a gated community.

Thanks. It doesn't work though.  The iconbox is displayed but when I minimize a window, the thumbnail doesn't go in the iconbox. :?

I use IconMan for this and set the thumbnails as miniicons, not as icons.
then I only show the iconified windows in the iconman and there you go :>

(I use 2 IconMans btw. one for the taskbar and one for the thumbnails)

New ones...

Pretty much standard stuff:

Totally decked-out eyecandy mode:

(A bit slow, but not at all unusable.)

Really happy with this month's improvements:

I use kdeinit with e17-cvs, enjoying a prettier desktop while being able to use my same old progs.

Re: November 2005 Arch Screenshots

Before anyone goes bananas...

We have to draw the line somewhere and that line does have to be some way before total full-frontal nudity, even if it is just a link, I think, otherwise people could directly link to all sorts of stuff!  It's easier for us, the mods, if people could just please avoid such links.

Of course, if your album does contain such screenies we can't stop people browsing it wink
