installation in virtualbox

hello i am trying to install arch in virtualbox .i followed the instructions in beginners' guide but i stopped installation after i generated the fstab file.when i tried to continue the installation after two days there was nothing inside the fstab file .why this happened?

i notice when i mount the sda1 and sda2 partitions then the fstab has something inside about the disks.is it possible to make it permanent?

Hi i'm a new user, but have you tried "genfstab -U -p $mountpoint >> $mountpoint/etc/fstab" after remounting your system layout

Being "$mountpoint", in a normal installation "/mnt"
