Re: cannot use pacaur ): ?

There's not really enough information here to help.  Have you installed pacaur?  It doesn't look like it.

Looks like you did manage to install yaourt. I was going to say you can use the same procedure for pacaur, but I suspect yaourt (unlike pacaur) provides a binary repository.

See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR. Since this isn't mint/ubuntu, you shouldn't dump every question you have on the forums -- Arch is more of a DIY distro (which is fun, or at least instructive, but you may need to invest a little more time). The wiki provides info about many more topics and you can search the forums for similar questions first (sometimes you may want to use google instead of built-in forum search).

And not that I'm a fan of yaourt, but why wouldn't it suffice to install a terminal from the AUR?

Yaourt comes preinstalled in ArchBang, doesn't it? wink

Provokes this question: Are you really trying to install plain Arch, lakritz?
Why? Because of this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fo … pport_ONLY

Believe its actually packer, or at least it was when I used it. Regardless to OP the subject of installing things from the AUR has been cover many times, do a search and read the wiki.

packer was recently removed from ArchBang, yaourt has never been shipped.

Folks, just push him over the right cliff: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR

Read this carefully, it will teach you all you need to know about the AUR.
