I reinstalled powerdown.
Now, on AC without any power* command:

I havent any files under /sys/module/i915/parameters/
Under /sys/class/backlight I have two folder, acpi-video0 and intel_backlight.
But, with pm-utils package under intel_backlight I had a file named brightness, now I havent, (I removed pm-utils because was in conflict with powerdown)
My kernel line
echo 'Loading Linux ...'
$6e14 ro quiet pcie_aspm=force i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 splash
------------------------
Edit:
If I modified the /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness file the brightness isnt modified.

You can append that to the grub line:
i915.i915_enable_rc6="x"
. Remember to comment that line in powerdown script!
Ps: "x" is your preferred value
I already added this flag to the kernelline.

PD: the 2 parameters on the grub are recommended for my pulsbo (gma500) video card

1. add "pcie_aspm=force" to grub
2. can you try "powerdown" then "powerup"? I think the brightness will change. also please paste the powernow msg before and after you run the command.

but in both cases the brightness in my monitor not change
but I discover that psb-bl have a value of 1 to 100 and THIS is the responsible againt bightness changes NOT acpi_video0

Optimized I mean, I installed Linux-ck from graysky's repo (sandybridge) along with the proper nvidia binary blob, xfce4, a custom 20-nvidia.conf in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ directory and last but not least... powerdown. Actual maximum capacity from the battery is 80 Wh, after a year of moderate usage still performing really well.

I pressume it will consume much less power if I had an SSD inside, as of now it has dual HDDs.

I tried the ck kernel.
The bigger battery is the best way to a longer battery time;)
I have the default 48Wh battery from the Dell.

Hello,
I've added this to disable power on lan on the ethernet interface :
for f in /sys/class/net/en*; do /usr/sbin/ethtool -s ${f##*/} wol d; done
To resume :
for f in /sys/class/net/en*; do /usr/sbin/ethtool -s ${f##*/} wol g; done
This adds ethtool as a dependency.
Offline
wol is disabled by default.

Not sure if it's connected to powerdown at all (though, it adds some pm-utils wrapper, right?)...
The issue is that I can't connect to any wireless network after resuming from "Suspend to RAM". The NetworkManager keeps saying something like "Unable to connect {network_name}" and that's all.
Note: tried to fire `sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager` command -- it doesn't help.
Here's some dmesg output (for what I believe related to sleep/resume): http://pastebin.com/feyiDgRc
P.S.: can't really say if wifi adapted was turned on or off, after resume. What command should I use to verify that?

Why don't you just uninstall powerdown to see if this resolves your issue?
I can't be sure, but when I installed powerdown, there were some packages I had to remove. So, I'm simply afraid of breaking things by removing powerdown
Offline
@mityukov
1. your log tells nothing about the state of networkmanager. it looks like it is fine after resume, because i saw you can still auth to some ap
2. powerdown really does not have any serious dependency
3. how do you suspend in detail?
