Anyone else using this?
I have been running it for the last week instead of dropbox and it is, for an alpha release, doing a pretty good job of replacing that functionality across my machines.
A couple of areas where it could improve:
it needs some Linux love, it definitely seems that the attention has been paid to the other OSes at the expense of Linux (commercial reality)
bring on the command line tools, the web UI is basic (understandably), but managing folders from the command line would be great
symbolic links do not seem to work, which is a shame...
The only other concern I have at this point is whether or not it will be open sourced; it is currently distributed as a binary and there is no mention of a license, I will be keen to see under what terms it is eventually distributed.
Anyone else have any thoughts or hacks?

Sync is for encrypted p2p transfers bewteen selected directories on controlled machines:

I've not used it, but I'm half keeping an eye on something to sync dirs across my private network.
If you want a dropbox replacement that's open source, have a look at seafile (again not used it yet) which is in the AUR.
Not only do they have a server you can sync to, they've made the server available so you can set your own up.
Not P2P though, unless you stick the server on every machine, which I would expect to be a hassle.

I tried to install and set this up, but there were a *Ton* of dependencies, and I never could get it running. Seemed promising at first, though.
Otherwise....still waiting with interest for my bitorrent-sync invite...

Thanks skanky: I had a similar experience to Scott: I looked at the PKGBUILD and blanched

New version released now that is is out of private trial.
Some improvements, including the ability to use your own secret and a link to the T&C (generic BitTorrent ones, ie., not open sourced).

It could, but it synchs all peered machines, so you would want to be careful how you manage the backed up files...

I would love to see an Open Source client too. So far it works like a charm.
