[SOLVED]libEGL.so.1: undefined symbol: wl_registry_interface

multiple programs complain about it. for example:
firefox, awesome(window-manager), lilyterm, gimp

alternatively these work:
fluxbox, xterm, blender

this is after upgrading mesa. libEGL belonging to mesa according to pacman -Qo
pacman also reports wayland is required by mesa. its a wayland struct apparently

firefox example: (using fluxbox)

XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/lib/firefox/libxpcom.so:
/usr/lib/libEGL.so.1: undefined symbol: wl_registry_interface
Couldn't load XPCOM.

[SOLVED]
noticed I had some testing packages installed and wayland-git from AUR
reverted the "testing" repository packages and wayland-git to wayland
nothing to see here, move along
my bad
