Hello,
I have the following card : Sapphire radeon HD 7850 2GB.
I have bad (slow/lags) performance since i use the catalyst driver (i have tried the official repository package and the unofficial repository catalyst-stable package "catalyst-hook" 13.1-1 which is the one i am using actually). Before that, i was using the radeon driver without any issue but i wanted to play games.
See bellow some informations :

I have the following card : Sapphire radeon HD 7850 2GB.
I have the same card, never had problems with it's performance, i can confirm that it's able to work. Also: what do you mean by bad performance? Is it with DE, composting, OpenGL or overall?
Can you paste whole Xorg.0.log somewhere? Actually it would be even better if you will paste report generated by atigetsysteminfo.sh

The problem is much more visible with full screen usage. For exemple, when i watch video with VCL 2.0.5-3 there are lags (frames are missing).
Other information, below result of the fgl_glxgears command.
In window mode :
[deden@archlinux-salon ~]$ fgl_glxgears
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
588 frames in 5.0 seconds = 117.600 FPS
683 frames in 5.0 seconds = 136.600 FPS

684 frames in 5.0 seconds = 136.800 FPS

686 frames in 5.0 seconds = 137.200 FPS

I'm getting the key error also with [xorg112] repo, but [catalyst-hd234k] seems to work fine:

Error messages are in italian (btw, how to force pacman output in english??), they basically say "GPGME error: no data (invalid or corrupted database)". I had no problem at all yesterday, and I didn't change anything in my pacman configuration for signatura check.
Edit: sorry, my fault . I did change the server from apocalypsus to wirephire for [catalyst-hd234k] but not for [xorg112]. Now everything is fine again.

I have the following card : Sapphire radeon HD 7850 2GB.
I have a Gigabyte "OC" HD 7870 2GB and it works perfectly fine. I used Vi0L0 repo and installed catalyst as described in the excellent wiki here. I also installed mesa-demos (need glxinfo for inxi) and held back xorg, xf86-video and input in pacman from beeing updated and i have around 1000 fps in fgl_gears. No problems at all.
I noticed that you have an older driver than me. Kernel Module Version Information:
[ 3.261] (II) fglrx(0): Name: fglrx
[ 3.261] (II) fglrx(0): Version: 9.1.11
[ 3.261] (II) fglrx(0): Date: Dec 19 2012
I installed this system a few days ago and have:
Kernel Module Version Information:
[ 12.467] (II) fglrx(0): Name: fglrx
[ 12.467] (II) fglrx(0): Version: 12.10.5
[ 12.467] (II) fglrx(0): Date: Feb 15 2013
Maybe you could try to remove catalyst/fglrx and reinstall the latest driver ? Follow the wiki to do so. You can't go wrong

I have tried what you suggested but i still have the sames problems.
I meticulously removed "catalyst-hook", "catalyst-utils", then remove from the pacman cache directory these packages to be sure to download them again. Then i rebooted and checked that no modules (nor fglrx, nor radeon) were loaded and install these packages again from the "catalyst-stable" Vi0L0 repo. To finish, i ran aticonfig --initial then reboot again. The X is working, like before but with the sames perfomances...
Also, i still have this strange message in my Xorg.log.0 :
[ 2.857] (WW) Falling back to old probe method for fglrx".
And still have an older driver than you
[ 3.046] (II) fglrx(0): Version: 9.1.11
I wasen't able to install the xf86-video-ati package because of conflict with catalyst-hook. I am missing something but i really don't see what...Perhaps some package are missing in my installation. Is there a liste of needed one for video in order i can campare to my installation.

@deden:
your logs seems to look fine. You are using xfce, am i right? Can you paste ~/.xsession-errors?
Maybe you are using hdmi or some kind of exotic connector / monitor (?) like this one:
edit: meanwhile i've updated [catalyst] repo and catalyst-test@AUR to catalyst 13.2 beta 7 version

I don't find any "~/.xsession-errors" (i haven't find any .xsession-errors in all my files). I am using a DVI connector and my monitor is a IIYAMA Prolite B2409HDS. Nothing i find exotic...but at this point i'm ready for anything. Perhaps, i should try the [catalyst] repo instead of the [catalyst-stable] ?

You can always try but it should make no difference on simple 2D/3D tasks, i would rather switch to kde/gnome

With the packages from the [catalyst] repo, i have some good changes. In window mode i have better perf (see the result of fgl_glxgears below).
[deden@archlinux-salon ~]$ fgl_glxgears
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
4028 frames in 5.0 seconds = 805.600 FPS
4287 frames in 5.0 seconds = 857.400 FPS
3592 frames in 5.0 seconds = 718.400 FPS
4321 frames in 5.0 seconds = 864.200 FPS
3993 frames in 5.0 seconds = 798.600 FPS
3978 frames in 5.0 seconds = 795.600 FPS
4433 frames in 5.0 seconds = 886.600 FPS
But in full screen, it's still very bad
[deden@archlinux-salon ~]$ fgl_glxgears
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
1378 frames in 5.0 seconds = 275.600 FPS
120 frames in 5.0 seconds = 24.000 FPS
114 frames in 5.0 seconds = 22.800 FPS
117 frames in 5.0 seconds = 23.400 FPS
119 frames in 5.0 seconds = 23.800 FPS
121 frames in 5.0 seconds = 24.200 FPS
120 frames in 5.0 seconds = 24.000 FPS
116 frames in 5.0 seconds = 23.200 FPS
121 frames in 5.0 seconds = 24.200 FPS
I don't really want to switch to KDE or Gnome. If i could find the solution it would be much better
Perhaps there is some setting to do.
Sleep well too !

Im on Lxde. The performance will not be better in KDE/Gnome but you seems to have got your speed up with the new drivers. Asuming you have a 860 MHz sapphire card its about what is the difference from my 1100 Mhz card in fgl_glxgears? But your fullscreen performance aint right. Mine is about the same in fullscreen (around 1100 fps) Did you try how it performes in a game? Like xonotic, UT? I'm running xonotic on ultra/insane in around 400 fps wich drops a little from time to time depending where in maps but it performes very well.

What does beta 7 do or fix? Because on the amd website, there is no sign of an Linux beta 7 driver, only beta 6.
