Hi,
Till yesterday my Arch_64/KDE was fully functional. Like (almost) every day, before shutting down yesterday, I ran pacman -Syu. Pacman reported that it failed to fetch several packages from my server (in Israel), and I shut the system down.
This morning the system won't enter into graphic mode, and I stay on tty1, both in default and fallback Arch. systemcrtl -b indeed reported that "x server dies during startup" yet the Xlog does NOT show any errors.
I've logged in as root on tty1 and retried again to run pacman -Syu with the same results, even after I've tried several other mirrors (in different countries).
Please advise

When you changed the mirror, did you run 'pacman -Syyu' instead of 'pacman -Syu'?

Thanks,
I've retried now pacman -Syyu, and still it couldn't find the mussing packages from 3 different mirrors.
Any idea?

Solved!,
Turns out my /var was full (I wish pacman would have "hinted" about it.)

I thought that CheckSpace was supposed to prevent this kind of issue from occurring? Have I misunderstood what that option does or have you disabled it in pacman.conf?
