updated initscripts

hi i updated today and it pulled a new initscripts package.
after renaming from e.g. /etc/rc.conf.pacnew to /etc/rc.conf
everything works fine but when i log into bash i get this:

GGGGGGGGGGGG[vladuz976@box ~]$

ok and that is only with Eterm if i use xterm or rxvt that doesn't happen. i wonder what caused that. because i didn't touch anything in Eterm.

Re: updated initscripts

I have had something like this for quite some time with zsh and rxvt-unicode.
except the GGGGGGGG (not counted them...) only flash for not even a second and then are replaced by the normal prompt.

since they disappear so quickly it's not so annoying as your problem, but I wondered what causes them.

haven't found a solution yet hmm

maybe it's just happy to see you?

try echoing things at different parts of your profile/bashrc - if you can get output before and after the GGGGGG stuff, you can narrow down what's causing it.

hey you're right. that would be a nice feature!

in the new rc.conf file i commented out the "LOCAL" now everything works fine.
