Can you check if you have libGL.so.1 in /usr/lib?

Re: [solved] KDE not working after full update

Mine works fine, though I haven't applied the latest update right now (4.10.1-1).

Try a clean kde4 prefix by closing your active session (if any) and renaming ~/.kde4 to ~/.kde4backup, and then starting a new session. If it works, your desktop config will be lost, but at least the problem will be fixed. If it doesn¡t work, I don't have any other clues...

Re: [solved] KDE not working after full update

re@galapag0 yes, I have that file

libGL.so -> mesa-libGL.so.1.2.0
libGL.so.1 -> mesa-libGL.so.1.2.0
libGL.so.1.2.0 -> mesa-libGL.so.1.2.0

re@mzneverdies

good tip, Thanks! will try to fix it first, if i don't succeed, i'l try that

Re: [solved] KDE not working after full update

re@mzneverdies I have tried renaming the ~/.kde4 and restarting the system, but the result is the same - i get a clean screen, and can't do anything (i see the cursor, but that's it), but thanks anyway!

Any other ideas maybe?

Re: [solved] KDE not working after full update

I get that too. First all the Xs then I deleted the entire .kde4 directory and now I just get a black screen with a cursor. After KDE tries to start I get a some messages like Run Command and Plasma Shell closed unexpectedly.

Edit: I logged into Gnome which kindly reminded me that my /var directory was full - apparently the new KDE packages filled up /cache/pacman/pkg. After freeing up some space there I was able to log into KDE.

Great, had the same issue and that fixed it.
