Boot optimization - 10 sec delay before usbhid is loaded

Any ideas what might be the cause of / fix for this?
https://gist.github.com/wuputah/923cb79 … L990-L1020

dmesg, lspci -v, and lsusb -v are also in the gist above. Let me know if anything else might be helpful.

Thanks!

Re: Boot optimization - 10 sec delay before usbhid is loaded

usbhid isn't being loaded until after the real PID 1 takes over which suggests that you don't have usbhid in your initramfs, but you do have ehci_hcd/xhci_hcd present (look at the sub 1 second range).

Is there actual problem here? There's no evidence of anything wrong, or any sort of delay.

Re: Boot optimization - 10 sec delay before usbhid is loaded

The first two seconds are drivers included in the kernel image. Stuff at 8 are modules loaded by udev.

Nothing unusual.

Re: Boot optimization - 10 sec delay before usbhid is loaded

Thanks for that explanation. This is indeed just a minor inconvenience - my system appears ready to use, but I can't type anything for a number of seconds. I'll read more about udev, but if you have any suggestions for speeding this up, I'd be all ears.

Thanks!
