tun Module Isn't Loading Automatically

I'm having to manually load the tun module, even though I have had the file /etc/modules-load.d/tun created for months (since I converted to systemd), nor is there a blacklisting for it in /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf. This was working great until a recent upgrade, & I'm not sure if it is because of the KVM changes or the recent kernel upgrade (I'm using stock kernel), but before those two things this was working for ages. Does anyone have any ideas to get this to load automatically again?

Re: tun Module Isn't Loading Automatically

As per the manpage, files in /etc/modules-load.d need to match "*.conf".
