Hi there.
After a couple of months out, I got Arch again with the latest image.
Now, as always, I'm having a bit of trouble setting the audio. My notebook is a DV7-3085DX.
Right now, it kinda works, but it only goes out through the subwoofer, so I went to the ALSA article to try other options. But there is no default ALSA configuration right now. My /etc/modprobe.d/ is empty.
So, having no /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf or even /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, nor
/etc/asound.conf or ~./asoundrc, and no indication of the recent changes in the ALSA article, I'm not sure of what can I do.
Any lights on the subject?

In the file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, you can try adding the line:
options snd-hda-intel model=ref
With this I call control the subwoofer and the others speakers separetely, it works on my DV7. Got it on some Ubuntu thead, and btw Ubuntu 12.04 works a LOT better than my Arch Linux.

Wilson
