This is all very strange. I will look into it tonight. What version does 'pacman -Si thunar-svn' return?

It doesn't unfortunately.

I removed all xfce packages, cleared my pacman cache and then installed xfce-svn. Thunar is still reported as 18421 in Help -> About. And those three packages mentioned above, still want to reinstall themselves all the time.

Done. I just realized that the version reported by thunar is different than the version reported by pacman.... That's why you are seeing an older version.

Shadowhand, your packages are still outdated. Not only that, they're completely fuxx0red - trying to remove the group xfce-svn leaves a lot of them behind (exo-svn, libtubo-svn, scramble-svn, libxffm-svn, a whole bunch of stuff), some packages seem to have missing dependencies (a pacman -Rscn that removes thunar ought to remove exo too, for instance)... Something really screwy is going on here, man.

 rm -f /var/cache/pacman/pkg/*-svn-* & pacman -Sy && pacman -S xfce4-svn
