Hi. I got a big problem/bug maybe ? In school we have a open wifi, but we have to authenticate with a username and a password, which i got. So i installed Wicd and tried to connect, it's wpa2 Enterprise and the security is EAP (PEAP). I wrote in the correct logindata, but it doesn't connect, it cancels after it says authentification. On my Android-phone it works perfectly, I also tried the network-manager (not wicd). In windows it works perfectly too. I know that it works with Linux, a classmate has installed Linux Mint and it works for him. Anyway my Wifi-card is a Broadcom BCM43224 802.11a/b/g/n, and I use KDE, the guy with Linux MInt uses Cinnamon. I'm hopefull for help.

First you said it is open wifi - and I suspected this was an open system in which you have to log in through a browser once connected, many universities have such a setup.
But then you say it is wpa2. Which is it?
Try following the manual connection methods in the wireless wiki to get more useful information. To start the iwlist scan results for that network would be a good first step.

Have you set the correct CA certificate? Can you link to the instructions provided by the network administration?

I hope this helps.

I can't log on to mine either. I think it has something to do with these parameters.
I have wasted atleast a second of your time by making you read my signature.

Hi again I wasn't able to check it today, but tomorrow I will be able to. I didn't use any CA-certificate, because it simply wasn't needed for the Linux Mint user either... @MagicSkyFairy: I think this one sounds very good will test it tomorrow. Thanks for all the answers so long , and sorry for my bad explanation in the beginning xD it really isn't an open Wifi after all you have to authenticate that's right^^ guess I was a little tired this morning ^^.
