Installing Arch on CR-48

I'm following these steps to install Arch on my CR-48:

install arch tutorial
install ubuntu (referenced)

Sorry if this is a dumb question but since we don't need the Chome OS source repo, can we just skip the section (in the ubuntu tutorial) where it says to execute the in Chromium OS root (create/boot/add test.bin)? If so, would the next step simply be to create a regular VM using an arch iso?

Re: Installing Arch on CR-48

Jrom - I see a second method to install with flashing the BIOS. Is this the method you used to install Arch on your CR-48?

I can install, but I am having issues with the BIOS to recognize my UEFI boot. Any thoughts?

Re: Installing Arch on CR-48

Not sure if either of you got this working, but I recently put Arch back on my CR-48.  I followed this guide to flash the bios: http://cr-48.wikispaces.com/Flash+BIOS.  Once that's done, I went into the bios and disabled the option for UEFI boot.  Then just did a standard install install with MBR partitions.  So far everything works great.  The only thing I've not tested is the 3G modem, but I dont intend to use it.
