Just for my information: does anyone know when the final release of OpenOffice2 is to be expected under arch?
thanks

Actually, it's already available for some time, but currently stays in testing repo (updates of big packages usually pass through testing). There should be no problems with it whatsoever, just enable testing repo and grab it.

It's in testing, yes.
I just installed it and wrote a few documents. It works like a charm. Loving it!
I do recommend adding export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome to soffice, as well, if you want GTK+, as stated in the wiki.

Had just to wait a bit: now it's done, oo is to get in extra.

I've not used any version of OpenOffice in quite some time, but just downloaded OO-2 today and must say, "it's really impressive". It's also really big, though... about 103 megs (for what I needed) as it sits in the Arch repo. 8)
