CLI Music player with colored progress bar?

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a simplistic CLI music player that looks pretty on the command line.

Really what I'm looking for is just mplayer + colored output + a progress bar. unfortunately mplayer doesn't have a progress bar on the CLI (I don't think?) and the color output using -msgcolor is pretty boring.

I don't need playlist support or anything really fancy, this is just for listening to 1 or 2 hour long DJ sets on my headphones.

It would be nice if the progress bar was configurable (like ncmpcpp)

I've already tried cmus, cplay, and mp3blaster. These are all either too complex, or just don't really do what I want.

Is ncmpcpp the only one you have tried?  You know there are gazillions of mpd clients out there... many of them CLI based.

I'm not looking for a MPD client. just something to use on my workstation for listening to long DJ Sets. I don't really listen to CD albums where the tracks are only 5 or 6 minutes so I don't need any special playlist managment or ID3 tag handling.

So your post says "I already use MPD" and "It would be nice if the progress bar was configurable (like ncmpcpp)", yet somehow it was supposed to be apparent that you didn't want to use mpd?

You could try nvlc, which is the ncurses interface shipped with the VLC media player.
It has colors and a progress bar, but I don't think you can customize the player.

I believe MOC does what you want.

Sorry, you're right that was confusing. I just put it there so no one would suggest it.

I'm looking for something much more light weight for my workstation with fewer features, I'm very happy with MPD on my HTPC!

I'm playing around with MOC right now. The configuration options look great (can even change the progress bar style!). I'll play around with this for awhile
