I have just installed Cinnamon. But I do not have any option for a Cinnamon session in KDM.
Cinnamon is installed and functioning.
Any idea why I wouldn't have it in KDM? Is it possible to add the option there manually?
here the list of avaliable program
Indeed, take the one from /usr/share/xsessions.
$ ls /usr/share/apps/kdm/sessions/ 9wm.desktop enlightenment.desktop larswm.desktop ratpoison.desktop aewm.desktop evilwm.desktop lwm.desktop sapphire.desktop aewm++.desktop fluxbox.desktop matchbox.desktop sawfish.desktop afterstep.desktop flwm.desktop metacity.desktop twm.desktop amaterus.desktop fvwm95.desktop mwm.desktop ude.desktop amiwm.desktop fvwm.desktop olvwm.desktop vtwm.desktop asclassic.desktop gnome.desktop olwm.desktop w9wm.desktop blackbox.desktop golem.desktop openbox.desktop waimea.desktop cde.desktop icewm.desktop oroborus.desktop wm2.desktop ctwm.desktop ion.desktop phluid.desktop wmaker.desktop cwwm.desktop kde-plasma.desktop pwm.desktop xfce4.desktop e16.desktop kde-plasma-safe.desktop qvwm.desktop xfce.desktop
$ ls /usr/share/xsessions/ cinnamon2d.desktop gnome.desktop kde-plasma-safe.desktop cinnamon.desktop kde-plasma.desktop
I do not have GNOME installed though?
I do have options for Cinnamon and Cinnamon 2D while using SDDM instead of KDM.

Thanks, eticre and Awebb. Your posts helped me with this same problem.
Tired? There's a nap for that. --anonymous
What is the purpose of /usr/share/config/kdm/sessions/? Does anybody know? It is (and always has been) entirely empty on my machine so I'm curious what is is meant to be fore.
I cannot find a reason for this extra session folder. I assume it happened along the lines "What do you mean: We are not THE standard?".
