Hi,
I have a Logitech usb optical mouse. It appears that when I plug an USB 2.0 pendrive the red light under the mouse turns off and it stops working. I have these messages in /var/log/messages:
Nov 24 09:12:42 Paradise usb 2-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 61
Nov 24 09:12:43 Paradise drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: ctrl urb status -71 received
Nov 24 09:12:43 Paradise input: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [046d:c03e] on usb-0000:00:1d.1-1
Nov 24 09:12:43 Paradise usb 2-1: USB disconnect, address 61
These messages keep on appearing with the address gets increasing 61,62,63,64 etc until I unplug the pendrive.
Moreover the system slows down and I find this processes running with the state S<:
udev input
udev input
udev usb
When I unplug it the system is still slow (the mouse pointer doesn't move smoothly) and I get these processes:
30582 ? S< 0:00 udev usb
30583 ? S< 0:00 /sbin/udev_run_hotplugd usb
30585 ? R< 0:00 /bin/sh /etc/hotplug/usb.agent
I have udev 0.71 (but it was happening also with '0.68') and kernel 2.6.11.10-ARCH.
This appears very often but not always. I'm sure it's not an hardware incompatibility issues because when I was running Slackware with the same hardware (mouse included) I didn't have this problem. Does anyone have a clue ? On the net I didn't find anything.
Really thanks to anyone can help me,

sounds like an IRQ conflict. See if disabling plug and play in the bios solves it. Arch's kernel provides this already.

Getting rid of hotplug should also help.
