Has there been any work around for the cpu cgroup issue and systemd --user sessions?

I love your avatar. What is it! What do you mean by systemd --user sessions?

Looks like there is a new package nvidia-libgl in the Arch repos. I cannot upgrade my system due to the older nvidia drivers present in repo-ck.

I am pretty sure it is a fish facing you.
By systemd --user he means being able to use the systemctl --user functionality to manage user services as well as system services. Google it, or lookin in our wiki. I use it to start my entire graphical session without using a display manager.

Graysky: I think you need to update the dependencies on the nvidia-ck packages with a dependency on nvidia-libgl also, only way to get my computer to boot correctly and also update via the pacman correctly. Seems like they have split nvidia-utils into nvidia-utils and nvidia-libgl (nvidia-libgl is the only one that says provides libgl in the package info)

@HellStorm - Fixed, thx.
@Anonymous user - Dunno how I missed your post or else I would have fixed this sooner.

After the upgrade to linux-ck-core2 version 3.8.6-1 network fails here with the following message in the log:
ápr 06 12:02:40 HomeC netcfg-daemon[234]: :: t-network up DHCP IP lease attempt failed.
ápr 06 12:02:40 HomeC netcfg-daemon[234]: [fail]
When I boot with stock lts kernel, network is available.
Where should I start to investigate?

@SanskritF - 3.8.5-1-ARCH works or 3.8.6-1-ARCH works? If it's 3.8.5-1-ARCH, that is not a fair comparison.
As an aside, you might wanna pull down netctl from [testing] which should hit [core] any day now. I have been using it since 0.5-1 and like it/no issues.

@graysky: Another Syu and the problem was magically solved. I have not the faintest idea what could have caused it, maybe the systemd upgrade to 200-1 solved it, I really don't know. Sorry for the noise but this problem lasted for a day. I'm happily using linux-ck again

Hello,
First of all thanks for the great repo.
After an upgrade to linux-ck-sandybridge 3.8.6-1 my computer can't boot.
I get to gummiboot and then I get a blank screen. I removed the quiet and replaced it with noquiet but i still can't see anything.
For info linux 3.8.6-1 from the base repo works
and linux-ck-sandybridge 3.8.6-3 does not fix the problem
Has anyone else seen this?
Any idea how to debug this?

Can you post the last few lines of dmesg after you modprobed it? I see no issues with it on my systems. I went ahead and rebuilt against 3.8.6-3 just now. Please update and report back.

Just tried with rEFInd and I get the same result, so it doesn't come from gummiboot.
I also updated my other computer to 3.8.6-1 and 3.8.6-3 and it works there (this other computer is also a sandybridge and uses gummiboot).
i don't mind spending some time debugging that but I don't know what to do to debug it since I can't see anything...

I use syslinux and grub but have no experience with either bootloader you're using. Do either of them auto-gen a config based on the contents of /boot or do they leave it up to the user? Could there be a mistake in the boot config (typo, wrong path, etc)?

gummiboot leaves it up to the user but rEFInd autodetects the kernels.
gummiboot was booting the previous kernels without trouble so unless the name and location of the initramfs file and the vmlinuz file changed (which I don't think is the case) there shouldn't be any problem.
I tried changing the kernel options on the commandline but this didn't change anything
EDIT:
I tried installing the linux-ck package from the repo and it works.
The problem comes from the CONFIG_MCOREI7AVX option. If it is set then the kernel won't boot.
I'm not sure exactly why since linux-ck-sandybridge up to 3.8.5 included worked on this computer.
For info, the processor is a core i5-3360M.
Not sure if this is a bug and where I should report it...

I installed community/virtualbox-host-dkms and recreated the modules, then everything works just fine.I'm affraid that I cannot provide dmesg as I have rebooted. Thanks anyway.

Hi, for the last few days, I've been unable to initiate an X session with ck core2. The problem is the nvidia driver: `modprobe nvidia` equally complains that the version is old. Does this have to do with the recent rearrangement of the nvidia packages?
Thanks,
Manolo

Not sure what to say; I run the ck-sandybridge packages on my workstation at work and it boots without an issue (grub). The only difference between ck-generic and ck-ivybridge's config files is the mtune setting:

I can't believe that that matters to the boot loader. You got me stumped.

So if you use the updated kernel modules from repo-ck (after a reboot) you are _still_ unable to modprobe them???

I'm awfully sorry. I had guessed the rebuild had to do with my post here, and had already updated before checking the thread again On the plus side, it does work now.
It was something about nvidia magic finding an older, non CORE2 version, and expecting a newer one. I haven't been able to find it in the logs; maybe I haven't been looking in the right ones?

@guiniol, proudzhu, and manolomartinez - I think this problem might be due to a typo in the gcc patch which has now been corrected. I am building 3.8.7-1 for the repo now and it should be finished and online around 20:30 GMT. Please try it and let me know if this corrects the problems.
