firefox slow scrolling on facebook an google

Hi,

I recently found that scrolling is very low on facebook and google. Chromium does not have this problem. Is there any optimization possible to imprve this. Anyone have the same problem?

I don't know really what would impact on that. I'm trying to get back the specification of my laptop. I have an i3 with hd graphics 3000 if I'm right. I've to remember the configuration that I'm using. There quite a bunch a time that I didn't look at configuration.

What do you mean by low scrolling ? Like it scrolls less lines than chromium ?

If you mean "slow" scrolling, try disabling "Smooth Scrolling" under the Advanced settings tab.

Re: firefox slow scrolling on facebook an google

The scrolling was not responding fast, I was scrolling the mouse but the scrolling of the window would lag quite a lot, almost 1 second. Today the problem vanish! Strange behaviour.
I'm just wondering if this could be related to slow internet connection (or high latency). At least right know, I don't observ the problem anymore! I'm a bit stucked!

Re: firefox slow scrolling on facebook an google

I got the similar behaviour with the update to v20, and remembered the smooth scroling setting fixing the issue for people in earlier versions.
Might be worth a try if the behaviour returns.

OK. I'm waiting the problem to come back and I will try it and see if it improves things here! Thank you.

Re: firefox slow scrolling on facebook an google

I have a similar problem since chrome v26 (I have made tons of other upgrades, I don't know if it's a chrome bug).
the smooth scrolling is very slow the first time I go to google. I have to refresh the page and it then it works correctly
it's very annoying

Re: firefox slow scrolling on facebook an google

I installed a fresh archlinux here on a new computer with an SSD, it form time to time, firefox does delay scrolling. The problem is not how much it scrolls but how many time it takes to scroll. It is quite slow, not smooth at all. Look likes I have a bad computer but this is not the case the boot is so fast here now. It may be related to facebook or google site, I don't know.

Re: firefox slow scrolling on facebook an google

From time to time the scrolling is slow and delayed which makes the scrolling behave like if it was by big steps instead of being continuous. I didn't understand well when this does happens. It seems yet aleatory and it became quite rare. Between all the problem I have it became a low priority problem (lol). I have this annoying huge quantity of dictionnaries in firefox which is much higher priority. I also would like to get the magic mouse to work but could not see it...
