mjpegtools-1.6.3rc3-2 broken

Trying to run cinelerra from [community] I get this error.

cinelerra: error while loading shared libraries: libmjpegutils-1.6.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

It seems that mjpegtools-1.6.3rc3-2 from [testing] is broken.

Re: mjpegtools-1.6.3rc3-2 broken

Wrong assumption.  What it means is that cinelerra in [community] has not been built against mjpegtools from [testing] and nor should it be, or will it ever be smile

No [community] pkgs are built against [testing] only against [current] and [extra] - [community] is a "stable" repository.  If you want to use cinelerra you will have to build it yourself against the [testing] pkgs

Re: mjpegtools-1.6.3rc3-2 broken

But it requires mjpegtools>=1.6.3rc1 and the stable version is 1.6.2. Then is cinelerra maintainer error?

Yeah, that is an error.  It should not built against an app in [testing]

Maybe waiting is the answer, but how do we fix it?

Re: mjpegtools-1.6.3rc3-2 broken

mjpegtools  1.8.0-1 is now in extra.  Maybe cinerella needs to be recompiled against the newer version.  Contact the TU who maintains the cinerella package.

Posting the error message that you have would be useful too.

That's what I thought. If you haven't done it yet, contact the TU who maintains the cinerella package. Cinerella needs to be recompiled against the newer version of libmjpegutils.

Meanwhile, you can use abs to rebuild cinerella.

As root:

# pacman -S cvsup
# abs

Copy the PKGBUILD from /var/abs/community/multimedia/cinelerra-cvs to a temporary directory. Go to that directory and run makepkg. Then install it with pacman -A.
