Can anyone help me? I have a USB3 external hard drive that, when I plug in, does not automount into thunar.
I have installed devmon, and when I run dmesg after plugging it in I have this:
[ 4749.967121] usb 2-1: new SuperSpeed USB device number 5 using xhci_hcd
[ 4749.980563] usb 2-1: Parent hub missing LPM exit latency info. Power management will be impacted.
[ 4749.984042] scsi9 : usb-storage 2-1:1.0
Bit of a noob to device management like this so if anyone can suggest a way to get this device automounting I would really appreciate it.
FYI: Existing USB2 devices automount fine.
Oh, and it's not showing in gparted.

What filesystem does the drive have? I made the same experience just recently, and it turned out that the drive was formatted with exFAT. Maybe that's the reason? I wasn't able to reformat the drive to see if it works for other filesystems, because the drive isn't mine.

It's ntfs and I can mount other ntfs devices.
Just tested, and if I have it plugged in when the computer boots up it shows up! But then if I unplug and plug it back in again it doesn't show up.
Anyone else have any ideas?
