resume from sleep ...almost... work

This started about a month ago after an upgrade of the kernel (among other packages). I run Cinnamon and have always been able to resume from sleep (I don't use hibernate) without a single issue, but now when it resumes, everything comes back except I cannot click in the desktop anywhere. I can switch to a different terminal/TTY screen and reboot cleanly from there. It's as if only the mouse isn't properly resumed.

Any ideas?

Does unplugging the mouse and plugging back again work?

Re: resume from sleep ...almost... work

Test if the problem is only about the mouse by suspending from a terminal with 'systemctl suspend' , while Cinnamon is not running.
