Xfce: custom "splash" screen

Hello everyone!

I'm a very minimalistic guy, I want things fast & customized my way, and today I've come into the adventure of changing the splash screen of Xfce. I'd like to have no animations, just the same image as my desktop, in the same dimensions, and staying there until panels and all the stuff is loaded. Is there any way I can achieve this behavior?

I have "succeeded" (well...) with a custom balou theme and a custom image put in the simple splash engine, but they show ugly messages like "Loading Xfce panel..." and so on. I'd like a clean image, with no other things.

Thanks in advance, best regards,
Kalrish

Re: Xfce: custom "splash" screen

I found one commit saying Splash engines are not present anymore in xfce4-session but i don't know where it is moved, but i think you can find it from older commits.

Update:
Here is the source for engine
https://github.com/xfce-mirror/xfce4-se … e/simple.c

Splash screens have been removed from Xfce and will no longer be available as of the 4.14 release.
