According to the ALSA Wiki there still is no driver for the ASUS Xonar Xense Soundcard, but it is "possible to support" (Link).
Can anyone confirm there is no way of getting out music from that card under recent kernel?
And can anyone tell me how much pain it is to write an ALSA driver (I'm familiar with C, but not with kernel development )?
Thanks
lynix

Look at the xonar files in sound/pci/oxygen directory in linux. That gives you a very rough idea how hard it is.
If you want to get an authorative answer you should ask alsa-devel. Maybe with a cc to Clemens Ladisch, since he seems to have done most of the work.

Any Updates please ?

Clemens Ladisch replied and said it would not be too difficult but he did not have the time for it.
I decided to buy a different card (Xonar DX).

I'm sure he would for the right price. Contact him and find out. I assume it won't be cheap...
