Arch on USB. Fails if using USB Hub

Hi everyone,

I installed Arch on flash drive. It boots correctly if I insert it straight to my computer's USB port, but fails in very first stage when I use USB hub. I've tried to add some modules to initramfs, but nothing's changed.

Any ideas how to make it work?

What is the very first stage you refer to?

Re: Arch on USB. Fails if using USB Hub

Is it a self powered hub?  Is there anything else plugged into the hub?
One guess is that the device is being starved of power.

Just after loading initramfs hooks, I believe...
It acts the same way as incorrect "root" parameter in bootloader configuration.

It's self powered hub and flash drive is the only one which is connected.

Re: Arch on USB. Fails if using USB Hub

I think it's something with modules. Which modules are responsible for usb hub support ?

Re: Arch on USB. Fails if using USB Hub

since the release of the latest mkinitcpio the block hook does all the heavylifting. So its not the modules..
