Blank screen on boot with Geforce GTX 660 using nvidia-304xx package

I was interested in Arch so I just installed it today.  I am trying to use the proprietary driver nvidia-304xx and as the title says I have a Geforce GTX 660 card, however when I install the driver I just get a blank screen on boot.  I can seem to use the nouveau driver fine though... do you guys need any more information?

What setup is yours?
Desktop? laptop?
I think you need the newer nvidia drivers and not nvidia-304xx series.

It's a desktop, I've tried the nvidia driver as well with the same result.

post your xorg.o.log . Maybe it might give us some idea.
