Activating SoaSE: Rebellion on Steam

Hello all!

So I'm really frustrated by Sins weird registration, it seems to work for everyone on the internet but me. Wine was complaining about libpng15.so and libssl, so I installed both but nothing's happening! Here's what I get by running the *Dev.exe from a terminal (launching from the terminal, but Steam is running):

Wine cannot find the ncurses library (libncursesw.so.5).

Yes, I've read the AppDB and did a Google search, so if you know anything, help!

(there are whispers of using the retail version of SDActivate.exe, does that work? I don't have any retail discs from Stardock though...)
