Post the output of 'timedatectl status'

Yeah, your system clock is not fine. You need to set a timezone and set UTC/localtime in adjtime

Ok, now it works, but my the time on my conky is off (which is weird because time is fine else where, such as in my panel (kde)). Any ideas?

Re: [SOLVED]Tor claims system clock is behind?

Post up the output of timedatectl status again so we can see how you're set up and tell what you mean by "off" in conky.

Re: [SOLVED]Tor claims system clock is behind?

Local time: Mon 2013-04-29 13:23:23 EST
Universal time: Mon 2013-04-29 18:23:23 UTC
        RTC time: Mon 2013-04-29 18:23:23
        Timezone: EST (EST, -0500)
     NTP enabled: n/a
NTP synchronized: no
RTC in local TZ: no
      DST active: n/a

Looks like it's not syning universal time correctly. Conky is 5 hours behind, which is what the system is putting out, but not what is correct.
Thanks for the help so far!

Re: [SOLVED]Tor claims system clock is behind?

What does hwclock --debug say?  Does "East Coast" imply the Eastern seaboard of North America?

hwclock from util-linux 2.22.2
Using /dev interface to clock.
Last drift adjustment done at 1367194599 seconds after 1969
Last calibration done at 1367194599 seconds after 1969
Hardware clock is on UTC time
Assuming hardware clock is kept in UTC time.
Waiting for clock tick...
...got clock tick
Time read from Hardware Clock: 2013/04/29 22:43:59
Hw clock time : 2013/04/29 22:43:59 = 1367275439 seconds since 1969

EST is eastern America where I am.

Re: [SOLVED]Tor claims system clock is behind?

That all looks rational to me.  You have a 5 hour delta between your local time and UTC.  [BTW, I was pretty sure you were in North America, but I had to ask... I've made stranger assumptions that were wrong tongue ]
Can you post your conky configuration?

Re: [SOLVED]Tor claims system clock is behind?

Looks to me like your RTC is set to localtime, not to UTC, correct? If so, you need to either change the RTC (recommended) or tell the system that it's in localtime (second link I provided earlier).

That is not what I see...

Time read from Hardware Clock: 2013/04/29 22:43:59
Hw clock time : 2013/04/29 22:43:59 = 1367275439 seconds since 1969
Mon 29 Apr 2013 05:43:59 PM EST  -0.704030 seconds

His RTC was set to RTC, and his local time had a 3 hour offset (5 PM+12=17 in 24 hour format;   22 (GMT)  -17=5 which is the delta for EDT.

This all happened at 19:42 PDT which is not 17:42 EDT.  Eastern time should have been 16:42.
Maybe we still have a daylight saving time issue.

-------------------------------------------------------
Edit:
Damn.  I am confused.

At 19:42 PDT, the UTC clock should have been  02:42.  Your BIOS clock is off by 5 hours.  Fix it.

Scimmia is absolutely correct.  Bedtime for ewaller ........
