I just had this three times today, backlight goes off for maybe half a second, then back on. It was too quick to determine whether it was any keyboard/mouse action on my part that "woke it up" or if it was just random.
Notebook is 3 months old, probability for hardware failure therefore pretty low.
I read that there was a kernel driver issue like this once, but that was quite some time ago. Anyone had this happen recently?
