I get the Connection Error. Connection failure: Unable to connect to the PVP.net server.
I have gnutls 3.1.6-1 installed just as before.
Here is some output from wine.

I was having trouble using the Pango Media install to actually download LoL.
This was solved by installing lib32-libldap in my base system (which is 64 bit)
EDIT: Downgrading to wine 1.5.20 has allowed me to login. HUrray
Edit: wine 1.5.22 also works. I think its a little more stable as well.
wine > 1.5.22 does not work for me. Does it work for anyone else?

Hey guys, i just finished creating a wiki article containing all the information in this thread.
Check it out:

Have you compared performance? I have an old install where the performance is rather bad ~30-40 FPS compared to my windows installs 170.

From the WineHQ.org LoL thread http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p … &iId=19141
FIRST: You have to manually download the pando independent installer corresponding to your region:
http://l3cdn.riotgames.com/Installer/Si … aseEUW.exe (for EUW)
http://l3cdn.riotgames.com/Installer/Si … seEUNE.exe (for EUNE)
http://l3cdn.riotgames.com/Installer/Si … BaseNA.exe (for NA)

My LoL is no longer working after patch 3.10. Will post if i find fix. Any help appreciated.
EDIT: Works now. I think i was just on a bad connection.

If you want more performance with applications using DX3D you cold use this [1] package or apply the use_glBufferSubDataARB_dbuffer.patch ( http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=42868 ) by yourself.

Will try, thaks, Thaodan. But could you link us to the exact source of the patch so we can know what it does?

Guys, since 3.11 Im experiencing the error depicted here:

Does anyone of you have the same problem? If so, I suppose it will be a distro thing (wine, gnutls, whatever).
Offline
Same here. It's because the icon fix is not working with new path.
Offline
Icon fixes work again sice around the end of September (there are now two around, old one still works). I recomend wine 1.6, in 1.7.* the patch works and fps gets sligthly better, but in-game shops of any map that is not the Summoner's Rift shows the item icons bigger (under the icon fix) than the clicking frame, which makes it hard to buy stuff.
Also you should be running the game with "wine lol.launcher.exe" which is the natural way of running it. The weird command that made you go into RADS/System/blahblahblah was a workaround to a bug that didn't let "wine lol.launcher.exe" work, but now the workaround is broken and we have to go back to the good ways of doing things.
Finally, I still need the Chroot, but I briefly talked to Krister Bäckman (heads up to him), who did the latest review of LoL under Wine 1.7.5 with Arch64 and he said that he got it working with a fresh install from this last weekend, so reinstalling OS might solve the unknown problem.
P.S. I also found that "winetricks wininet" doesn't see to be mandatory anymore.
Hope it helps!

I'm using Playonlinux now, I've dropped using of chroot approach. It's stupid but it's working... I just had 2nd display connected and game was running on it (while it is in different room so I coudn't see it ) so I figured it was not working ... I need no icon fix path to play, just some icons are displayed as red rectangles but I know them by name so it's not a problem at all. ;-) Sorry for trouble.

Hi smsware.
I'm also using playonlinux, but since fex days, i can't start a game.
After champions selection, i got a message : The game has crashed.
Any workaround ?
Thx a lot
Offline
We need more info to help. Like for example, it would be nice to read the shortcut script PoL is using to run the game. PoL does weird things with those... If I were you I'd start by trying to run your install in a vainilla (or patched if you dont have icon fix) wine. Run the winetricks crap, then cut the Riot Games folder and paste in drive_c of the new wineprefix of your choice (.wine) and see if it runs. Installs sometimes get corrupted (even more if you use the icon fix)... Riot sux sometimes... So I'd lastly try to do a fresh install (launcher's install fixer is slow and doesn't work in wine anyway).
Offline
On another note (hence the double post), thanks to all of you pointing out that the game worked without the chroot made me realise I hadn't my /etc/hosts file properly configured. At last I will be able to drop my chroot paraphernalia. Thanks a lot.
Offline
I've tried the fresh install, but still the same message : the game has crashed
