I am having issue during Arch Boot. I have Gnome 3.8 with Gnome-Shell and GDM.
During boot the system hangs for about 30 secs then, "OOps! something has gone wrong" is displayed and after 10-15 seconds GDM login screen appears, I can login and everything works.
I have some Gnome-Shell extensions. Generally the "Oops" message is displayed when there is some sort of incompatibility with any extension. So, I disabled all extensions and re-started arch. That did not help.
Then I checked my Xorg.0.log and found this:
[ 12.023] (II) LoadModule: "modesetting"
[ 12.039] (WW) Warning, couldn't open module modesetting
[ 12.039] (II) UnloadModule: "modesetting"
[ 12.039] (II) Unloading modesetting
[ 12.039] (EE) Failed to load module "modesetting" (module does not exist, 0)
I have the same error in /var/log/gdm/:0.log
(WW) Warning, couldn't open module modesetting
(II) Unloading modesetting
(EE) Failed to load module "modesetting" (module does not exist, 0)
I have Intel integrated Graphics on board.
Wiki suggests: "To load KMS as early as possible in boot process, add the module ..., i915 (for Intel integrated graphics) or ... to the MODULES line in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf:" I am not sure how relevant this is.
I am unable to pin-point the cause and find a solution to the 'oops' message. I need forum help to determine and fix the issue.
Thanks for looking into it...

Can I see the full logs?

The module the log mentions is the xf86-video-modesetting driver. It's mainly a fallback, like vesa and fbdev. Being just a fallback, there's absolutely nothing wrong if it isn't there. In other words, it's unrelated to your gnome issues.

Nevermind, the issue has resolved by itself after a couple of restarts. At least for now.
@Gusar: I doubted that 'modesetting' could have been realated to my Gnome issue, yet that was the only error I could find. Thanks for the clarification.
