I'd like to bind `systemctl suspend` to a key combo, but how can I run the command without sudo (and therefore without having to enter my password)?

It doesn't need sudo for me, it should work for you, too.

logind should handle this normal user capability. You can use loginctl to make sure your session is active.
If all else fails, you can always learn a bit more about sudo...
