Re: [Solved] ooh, nice, an off-topic conversation about pixels

While reading this thread, I realized that 16/9 is 4/3 squared.  In all my years of working with video, I never considered that.  Anyone know if there is any significance to that, or is it just another pointless factoid stuck in my brain?

Re: [Solved] ooh, nice, an off-topic conversation about pixels

(4/3)^2 = 16/9
(4*3)^2 = 16*9
4+3 = 16-9

Surely there is some conspiracy afoot.

EDIT: (4^2-3^2+16^2-9^2)*3+3*4*9+9+3 = 666
AHH!

Don't laugh, but this is how I used to read on the netbook until the day I got a tablet (and then an ebook reader).

Since this thread is marked as solved may I ask what the problem even was and how it was solved? tongue

Once the debate about religious numerology reaches three consecutive posts, every thread is considered dissolved.

Re: [Solved] ooh, nice, an off-topic conversation about pixels

Actually the whole purpose of this thread was to convince Awebb to start supporting the widescreen-sucks movement. It took quite a bit of lobbying with Xyne to split off the thread in the first place, but as you can see the end has justified the means. The rest was part of the ploy, with an excellently played out role by Trilby i must say. Bravo guys, bravo!

Perhaps not internally, but "nothing of the sort?" I'll have to disagree.

EVGA Nvidia 620ti, adapter cable and power supply all ran me about $310. Instructions can be found at 'http://forum.techinferno.com/diy-e-gpu-projects/2109-diy-egpu-experiences-[version-2-0].html#post27126' (sorry, the brackets in the middle screw up urls).

This works best with an external display, but can be made to work internally as well--though obviously, you won't be carrying it anywhere.

Re: [Solved] ooh, nice, an off-topic conversation about pixels

Certainly not one suitable for gaming.  And I already have a high-end laptop, so there's no sense in buying another computer, and the cost of the graphics rig is still less than what the upcoming consoles will likely cost.  This is just a way to get top-notch game performance if, like me, you only have and want one machine, and the card itself can be upgraded down the line.
