When i type a long answer on a forum or anything that requires text entry parts of it disappears.
It is a rendering problem probably since when you select the whole text it appears as it should. It doesn't happen all the time.
Any idea what the cause of this might be?
Thanks in advance.
Oh. Now that you mention it, I have seen this bug. I know exactly what you mean. I'm typing away in a reply field on the Arch Linux forums and suddenly half of my previous sentence becomes INVISIBLE. I usually press CTRL-A real quick to verify that the text is still there, but it always is. It's just invisible. I've seen the bug since... maybe Firefox 19? Maybe 18 or 20.
I'm sorry, I don't have a solution. I just wanted to let you know that you aren't crazy or anything.
Nice to know that i am not alone
Yes it was present in the last few FF releases and still get it with 21. Also sometimes instead of the text becoming invisible it gets replaced with other sentences i typed.
Yes, you are not alone with this type of problem.
Although Firefox works for me flawlessly, Abiword behaves exactly like you described. Maybe even if you take a screenshot when some text looks invisible, the screenshot shows everything fine, doesn’t it?
(My problem actually affects several applications, each slightly differently. Look at this thread.)

Does turning off HWA make any difference ?
Are you experiencing the same problem as me https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=156456 ?
Turning off HWA doesnt solve it, and this issue is also present on MS Windows.
This bug is present since ff17.
My bug report is here https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=847962

Yes, it's the same glitch.
Funny. I remember reading that other thread and thinking, "What a crazy glitch".

Your problem doesn't seem to relate to this.
Reproduced it with your text from the other topic
