Steam under Wine, no connection.

Just downloaded wine-1.5.30-2 and wine_gecko-1.9-1.

Tried installing Steam:

Steam Client Service install completed.

After the install I run the software, and indeed Steam starts. Then it tries to download the updates but is hopelessly stuck at 0 Kb:

I've tried running it under optirun, primusrun, normal, 32bit, 64bit(this is my default), prefix, no prefix. Yeah, pretty much the same error.

Are you aware that steam is in the [Community] repository? though only the linux versions of the games will run.

Are you aware that steam is in the [Community] repository? though only the linux versions of the games will run.

Yes I am. I want to play some other games that I've got.

EDIT: The Linux-version is running fine btw.

Yes I am. I want to play some other games that I've got.

Did you have a look on the wine website here http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p … &iId=19444  - the page may have some tricks to get it running since Arch Linux is highlighted as gold and will run.

Funniest thing ever, ok. Maybe not, but... After letting Steam run at the 0 Kb. It started when my Netflix (running on PS3) buffered to whole movie or something.

Well this was awkward.
