Same problem, using i3. There is one more workaround: put the left monitor on the right, but not physically:
xrandr --output <left_screen> --right-of <main_screen>It has to be done every time one wants to play, which obviously isn't great, but hey, it's a workaround.
I'll try to test it more when I get a chance.

Launching games in wine desktops (wine explorer /desktop=game,1920x1080 game.exe) "fixes" this. Though some games do work without a desktop too. I can't work it out.
