Hi,
Well I've got a strange problem. When I play files with amarok (back from 1.2.x to current 1.3.7) I have strage bass anomalies. Sometimes you can feel the bass just kick in at some place... the song plays well with the bass more "dynamic" and then after some time it just fades away to kick in a while later.
I tested it with the xine and gstreamer engine, both have the same issues.
I have Alsa 1.0.10 and Creative Audigy 1. Part of my lsmod:

Alright.. I've done some research.
Hardware:
Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Audigy (rev 03)
Speakers:

In this one the whole issue was really noticeable. At the begining the bass was really responsive, good quality and such. Near the 1:00 it faded away, the sound was flat and it came (really noticeable) somewhere 30 seconds later.
I tried Amarok 1.3.7 with Gstreamer 0.8.11 and Xine-lib 1.1.1 backend. Same issues regardless of what I chose (alsa or oss emulation). I tried setting different "speaker arragements (Surround 5.1 and Stereo 2.0), nothing changed.
Tried with XMMS 1.2.10. Both with Alsa and Oss emulation, the issue remained.
So I came to a conclusoin that it's ALSA's fault. Alsa version 1.0.10 with Kernel 2.6.14ck. I had simmilar issues before (as I stated above) so it's not a problem with the latest version.
I begun tweaking my Alsa setting. http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php?page=emu10k1 Gave me some sort of a clue.
And finally I came to a solution. After reseting my asound.state I changed the settings to:

Surround: on, but both channels need to be equal (don't know why)
LFE: 96% (with this at 100% it makes the problems appear)
I dunno why these changes need to be set like that, but it works. Hope I've helped someone.
